Working on two things; one is the poster for my sister’s high school musical production of The Pajama Game, which I was having some anxiety about because there’s little room for creative interpretation on those types of things, but it came out nice and simple, just the way I like it. The second thing that is like 2% underway is a rebranding of my mom’s Flower Shop (literally called The Flower Shop), which will (hopefully) include a website so she can have a presence on the internet!

Thinking about too many things at once, of course. Particularly a trend in the blogosphere that makes me want to disconnect my internet that involves almost every single one of the bloggers that I admire most recently announcing that they’re expecting either their first or third child. Maybe more on my feelings in another post?

Excited for our move next week!! We’ve been doing a little bit at a time so there is a lot of stuff there already, but we have so much that it looks like we haven’t moved anything yet. I’ve been staying at my mom’s because the transmission on my car bit the dust two weeks ago (yeah, two…) and it’s been hard packing things and then getting it to the new place without a car. I can’t wait to be in a new place that we actually love more and more every time we go there.

Obsessed with working out. I never thought the day would come where I physically need to go to the gym every day in order to mentally and physically feel good. I skipped a few days because the whole not having a car thing wasn’t working to my advantage but when I go for days in a row I feel amazing! Eventually I’ll be making some diet changes, but for now I’m just trying to be more mindful about what I eat and when I eat it. I already feel 50% better and I’m excited to start looking any percent better!

Craving Redi Whip, straight out of the can. It’s been on my mind for a few days now but I haven’t been to the store to get any yet. I’m afraid that I’ll overdose and get a whipped cream stomach ache and be immobile for the rest of the night. It’s a serious condition, ok!

Excited about what else- Christmas! I’m particularly excited for Julian to experience his first real Christmas (last year he was barely sitting up on his own) and to see the look on his face when he realizes that he gets to unwrap all of these new presents. I’m also excited for the New Years party I’m fantasizing about in my head.

Watching Gossip Girl. I just finished Season 4 on Netflix. I know- I’m a little late, but I like to wait for all of the seasons of an entire show to be on Netflix so that I can watch them like one big, long movie. I will admit, I’ve cried for Chuck Bass an estimated amount of four times so far. If he’s supposed to be so evil and bad, why does my heart weep for him so much! I guess you can said I’m a Blair.

Thankful for Julian. I didn’t jump on the “Thankful For” bandwagon last month, but lately I’ve been really appreciative for the baby I was given. He makes me excited to wake up every morning because I get to see his sweet little face and hear the new words that he’s learning. It’s so fun to try to see the world through his eyes, and to try to figure out what he thinks about is such a fun game for me!

Nervous about gift buying. I love trying to think of the perfect gift to get for someone. I love the task of remembering something they mentioned once and then seeing their face when they open it on Christmas. It’s a good feeling to know that you’ve given a gift that someone is excited to receive.

Hating most of the music on the radio. Timber? Really Pitbull? You don’t have any deeper feelings within you than that song? I’ve been riding in my car in silence because I hate every song. And even though it’s December now, I can’t listen to Christmas music just yet.

What about you? Is there anything you’re watching, loving, craving, or hating? If you have a “Currently” post, comment below with a link!

PS- I'm loving the new A Beautiful Mess photo app update! if you don't have it, you need to download it ASAP!

It's really December?

Is anyone else feeling like they need a long nap today? I’ve had (almost) a nine day break, including weekends, and I was so not looking forward to working this morning. Luckily the day went fast and I’m missing Julian a ton, so I’m looking forward to seeing him all night!

I’ve been sick since last week, so I’m embarrassed at my lack of blogging, or any computer use at all, really. But, it has felt good to just enjoy time with my guys, my couch, and Netflix. I always start to get super stressed around this time because of last-minute gift buying stress, so I can’t promise I’ll be any greater of a presence on the Internet in the coming weeks. I’m really looking forward to getting myself organized for the new year and enjoying Julian’s second Christmas and our first Christmas in our apartment.

I didn’t waste any time starting to decorate because I was so excited, and I also didn’t waste any time starting my home made Christmas cards, which I want to write more about later, or tomorrow.

In the meantime, I hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving, and that you’re not nearly as stressed out as I am!

If you are, let’s promise each other to take a breather and remember the things that really matter. Sometimes I forget, don’t you?

It's my blog and I can rename it if I want to...

I guess I have a thing for titles based on songs. Maybe I should become a songwriter.

No thanks. I actually hate coming up with names and titles. I always end up changing my mind at some point or end up thinking of what I should have "called it". Which is what happened with this blog. I coulnd't think of something original, so I came up with this gneral blog name- All Things Me. It just sounded so awkward, and obviously this blog would be all about me. I'm writing it aren't I? So, I was noticing that lots of blog names are derived from nicknames, and then it came to me...

And bam. Suddenly my blog was named my childhood nickname given to me by one of my grandmothers (I actually call her Hammie...) and Dom used to call me that when we first met, for some reason. It's not any more original because so many people use their childhood names for their blogs, but hey- it's better than being embarassed by that other weird name that I won't ever mention again unless I have to.

In other news, I promised you last post that I would be back this weekend with something exciting, and while I really did want that to haooen, I don't really know how exciting it's going to get around here, unless something magical happens tomorrow. I still have to do something with the two pumpkins that I got in the spirit of Autumn... which is sad considering Halloween is in less than a week. So there's that.

AND I did manage to sew Julian's costume the other night, after I realized that he put the power cord to my sewing machine somewhere, never to be found again. Which I'm so. darn. happy. about. I didn't take progress pictures because honestly it was so easy that putting step by step pictures up would have been insulting. I am going to get him all dolled up tomorrow and take some more put-together, non-blurry pictures of him in it, though. It's the perfect last minute costume and you can make it in any size that your heart desires- using less than 10 materials. But because I can't resist a picture of my Juli bug, here's one that I snapped to send to my sister last night.

You get the gist though. So cute!!!

Dom and I went out to dinner together last night to Gordon Biersch, a restaurant at Destiny USA in Syracuse, and it was yumm!! We've been there once before with friends, and it was an amazing experience both rounds. Last night, two people wiped out in the restaurant. Two customers!

So, that's life in a nutshell right now. The weather looks promising tomorrow and Monday, so I'll be getting Julian in his costume to take some pics, as well as hopefully completing a share-worthy project here!

Happy Weekend!

Watching Revenge. And I am obsessed. It's really a sickness, and I don't know if it's a good thing or bad thing that I watched all the eposides on Netflix. Good because now I can't sit on my couch with my eyes glued to the screen for hours. Good because I can free my brain up for some other thoughts. Good because I won't have dreams about Victoria and Conrad Greyson. Bad because I just love it so much!!

Wanting too much, as usual. I'm trying to decrease my wants in an effort to increase my happiness and also increase the number in my bank account. Christmas (I said it) is around the corner and we have to buy decorations for our apartment this year, along with gifts for Julian!

Hoping this summer weather will go away (yup... said it) so I can wear my sweaters and leggings and pants and jacket and buy a pair of riding boots. One can only drink so much pumpkin flavored coffee to simulate the feeling of fall. I'd rather not be sweating when I'm carrying pumpkins!

Loving my boy extra tight this week. He's been feverish, lethargic, and super needy. It's easy to get impatient and angry when he won't stop crying, but I have to remember that he feels the same way that adults do when they're sick, only his way of complaining is a little more annoying, and he can't really help expressing it. Hopefully he's better by the end of the weekend!

Thinking about oh, too much, as usual. Right this moment, I'm thinking about upcoming projects and people I could offer my services to. I'd like to get my name out there for Christmas gift ideas and maybe some cards, so I'm going to have to think of some products to get out there.

Excited for Sherry and John at Young House Love and the new addition to their family! I've been reading/following/obsessed with YHL for about two years now, so, call me crazy but I feel like a part of my family is growing haha!

Excited about Pumpkin and Apple picking with my family and extended family tomorrow! I hope Julian is feeling up to it, and I also hope the weather will be nice and cool so we can wear fall-y clothes and be slightly chilly out there in the fields. Hey, I just want that total fall experience, ok?

Missing my papa. It's been three months (yesterday) since his passing, and it feels like forever since he's been gone, but I can also remember his voice and everything about him like it was yesterday. Not a day goes by without thinking of him and missing him.

What's currently going on in your life? If your answer is "too much", then join the club!

A big thanks to Danielle for the original inspiration for this post.

The idea for this entry comes from Danielle over at Sometimes Sweet, a blog that I discovered this past week that I love! My favorite part about finding a new blog is browsing through their content and “catching up” on their life. I have so many favorite blogs now that it’s hard to get everyone straight, but there’s usually a characteristic or two that I remember about each one, whether I remember the blogger’s name or not!
So, these are a few things that I’m currently doing!

photo (3)

Watching: New Girl, and I am obsessed. I finished all of the episodes on Netflix so now I’m going to see where else I can get episodes from. Maybe Family Video? It’s one of those shows that I could sit and watch 10 episodes of in a row and not even be sick of. Jess is one of those people that makes you want to be more like her.

Eating: Dom and I went to Moes for lunch today! It’s my favorite place and the burritos are $5.55 on Mondays and his mom took Julian this afternoon, so it was just us- it doesn’t get much better than that!

Excited about: A few things. One, I’m about to go pick up some super cute invitations that I did over the weekend for a coworker’s grandson’s birthday party. Little Gregory is turning 2 in October and his mom is planning a birthday party at a local pumpkin patch, so I made them pumpkin themed! I’ll probably post pictures on Instagram as soon as I get them, and may be adding them to my Etsy shop! I’m also excited about my weekend plans with my best friend Morgan. She recently transferred to the University of Buffalo and it’s their homecoming football game on Saturday, so I’m making the 2(ish) hour drive to Buffalo Saturday morning to spend about a day with her! I’m excited to be living the college life for 24 hours!

Wanting: An apartment we looked at (by we I mean my sister and I) last Wednesday. It’s so perfect for Dom, Julian and I! We still haven’t heard back from the guy that’s renting it out, so I’m nervous that he found someone and just isn’t going to call everyone who didn’t get it. He sounded like there were lots of interested people, which I can believe because its absolutely gorgeous. It’s ok if we don’t get it, though. We should probably save more before we start actually looking anyways.

Looking forward to: Fall and cooler weather. We had a taste of it last week and this weekend, and I’m so excited for pants and at least 3-quarter length sleeves, flats, and cute hoodies for Julian. We’re supposed to hit 90 in the next few days and I’m honestly praying that it’s the end of this “can’t-make-up-my-mind” summer we’re having in terms of weather. And I’m sick of Dom thinking we still need to run the air conditioner in our room at night. I’ll admit, I like to sleep… uh… au natural… at night occasionally, but that can’t work if its freezing in there!

Loving: The age that my Juli is at. He’s “saying” so many new things, walking all over, making new discoveries and learning new things every day. He’s so sweet and silly, and he always brightens my day! I thought I loved the 10 month age, when he was starting to get some personality, but I really love this age! It’s bittersweet because every time he does something new it reminds me that he’s getting closer to not being a baby anymore and becoming a toddler right before my eyes.

Thinking about: The brand new sewing machine that hasn’t been touched since my grandma bought it for me about a month ago! I’m itching to try it but haven’t had the time to sit down and start a project. I have too many things vying for my attention right now! So far my want for slimming down my hobbies isn’t working, and I still have lots of things on my plate. I’d love to create some more block printing tutorials and get some real hand made projects done, but that’s just not in the cards I guess. Once the boy goes to sleep the only things I feel like doing are sitting on the couch, munching on some puffcorn, and maybeee banging out some homework.

Those are just some of the things that are swirling inside of my head right now, but I encourage you to think of the things that are currently thinking about. I love this exercise because it makes you take a second to really be conscious about what’s going on in your life!
